THE PATHFINDER TEAM Management Profile Jay Gronlund is the president and founder (1990) of The Pathfinder Group. The core expertise of Gronlund is in
marketing and new business development in domestic
U.S. and overseas, including strategic brand positioning and ideation. Under the Pathfinder umbrella, Gronlund has developed a wealth of experience in diverse product/service categories, both
B2C and B2B (product and service). Much of the cross border development work has been with clients seeking to expand
into emerging countries – in Central/Eastern Europe, Far East and Latin America, where prior experience is essential.
Typical projects involved a comprehensive market assessment, due diligence and customer research (including competitive intelligence),
strategic and market entry planning,and brand development or revitalization for new products (including ideation
sessions). Related to these consulting activities, Gronlund organizes and facilitates customized workshops on various
marketing and business development topics in foreign markets, as well as in the U.S. Gronlund has also been teaching
a branding course at New York University since 1999, "Positioning and Brand Development".
Prior
to starting Pathfinder, Jay's career in reputable corporations mainly involved new product development and marketing in
the U.S. and abroad. After graduate school, Jay Gronlund held executive positions for more than 20 years, most recently:

- Seagram - Sr. VP Marketing & New Business Development, Wine Division
- Church & Dwight
(Arm & Hammer) - Group Manager, New Business Development
- Richardson-Vicks - Brand Management and New Product Development
Jay Gronlund is a graduate of Colby College and has an MBA from Amos Tuck, Dartmouth College.
He is a member of the American Marketing Association, The World Trade Club of New York, and the Yale Club of New York City.
Jay has lived and worked in foreign countries (UK and Sweden), and has traveled extensively throughout the world. He is passionate
about sports (skiing, golf and tennis), jogging, and anything outdoors, including adventures like recently climbing Mt.
Kilimanjaro, the Jotunheimen Mountains in Norway, and para gliding in Europe.
